Deon Tedder has dedicated his life to public service and advocating for the underserved. A graduate of South Carolina State University and the University of South Carolina Law School, he serves his North Charleston community as an attorney. His commitment to service began in college, where he worked in the office of Senator Ted Kennedy on the HELP Committee, and continued in law school as a Guardian Ad Litem for Richland County’s CASA program and as a representative for indigent clients in Magistrate Court. He gained further legal experience as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable L. Casey Manning. Deon has been recognized for his legal expertise, earning accolades such as the National Black Lawyers Association’s Top 40 Under 40 and the Super Lawyers Rising Star distinction for personal injury litigation. Now with Rogers, Patrick, Westbrook & Brickman (RPWB), he handles product liability, personal injury, and criminal defense cases. As a state senator, Deon has fought to secure federal aid for school meals, protect small businesses from government overreach, and champion amendments to prevent racial profiling. In both law and public office, he continues to be a voice for the voiceless and a force for meaningful change.
